When and where does the event take place?
Silicon 2023 takes will be held at the Santa Clara Convention Center on October 14-15, 2023.
Show hours are:
Saturday October 14th: 10:00 - 7:00
Sunday October 15th: 10:00 - 5:00
**VIP Ticket holders can enter the show 30 minutes early each day.
Do I need a ticket for my child?
If your child is under the age of 6, there is no charge to attend SiliCon.
If your child is between the ages of 7-12, there is no charge if you have purchased the Family Fun Pack which includes 2 adult and 2 children under the age of 12. If you don’t purchase that limited time offer ticket package, please purchase a pass.
1 or 2 day tickets are available.
If your child is over the age of 12 but below the age of 18, you will need to purchase a ticket for them.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards.
What items are not permitted at SiliCon with Adam Savage?
The following items are strictly prohibited at SiliCon:

- Stilts
- Weapons (Please see our Weapons Policy for more info: https://www.siliconsj.com/cosplay-central-2/
- Drones / UAV’s
- Illegal Substances
- Stickers / Adhesive Graphics (Keep them in your bags/pockets and off the walls/floors of the Event Facilities)
- Signs/flags, if they are attached to a pole of any length and are used to solicit or incite any response. All other signs/flags are permitted.
- Non-Service Live Animals.
- Helium and Mylar Balloons
- Lasers or Similar Items
- Coolers
- Oversized Backpacks / Bags: No bags over the airplane carry-on size are permitted. As a point of reference, the size limit for a standard airplane carry-on is 22 x 14 x 9 inches. All bags, regardless of size, are subject to inspection at any time.
- Motorized Vehicles (i.e. go-karts or kids’ battery-operated vehicles.)
- Wheeled Carts / Wagons
- Confetti / Loose Glitter (Glitter used on your costumes is OK)
- Flammable Liquids
- Open-Flame Use
Do you have a quiet room?
Yes. A quiet room will be available for those who might need respite from the noise and crowds. A mother's lounge will also be available for nursing women.
Are strollers permitted?
Yes, strollers are permitted. Wagons, however are not. We also do not have a designated stroller parking area.
I purchased a ticket but now I want a refund. What do I do?
We do not offer refunds once a ticket is purchased, but you can roll it into next year's show.
What do I need to pick up my badge on-site?
QR Code confirmation (e.g. email printout, pdf/screenshot via your phone, or mobile app)

- Valid, government-issued photo ID
- If you are under 18, please bring your parent or legal guardian with you to pick up your badge. If you are 12 and under, the adult present when you pick up your badge must also have purchased a badge and accompany you for the duration of the event.
- NOTE: Each registered attendee must pick up his/her own badge.
Can someone else pick up my badge for me?
With the exception of children, each registered attendee must pick up their own badge.
How do I get my prop weapon checked/approved?
Weapons check will be located in a tent in the main courtyard outside the convention center. Weapons will be inspected and checked prior to entering the convention center. If a weapon is deemed unsafe, it will be held at weapons check until you leave the venue.
Are there size or weight limitations to weapons?
Yes. Props or prop weapons cannot be more than 7 feet (2.13 meters) in length or more than 15 pounds (6.8 kilograms).
What kind of weapons can I bring in to SiliCon?

Can I walk around barefoot?
No, shoes are required at all times.
Are there any requirements or restrictions when cosplaying?
Yes. Please see our costume dress code for more details.
No costumes may be realistic depictions of American law enforcement, current American military uniforms, first responders, emergency medical personnel, or any official government agent. “Vintage,” historical, any non-current uniforms, and any military or police-style costumes may be addressed at the convention’s discretion (i.e., Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, etc.)
Can I wear a military or police officer costume?
No costumes may be realistic depictions of American law enforcement, current American military uniforms, first responders, emergency medical personnel, or any official government agent. “Vintage,” historical, any non-current uniforms, and any military or police-style costumes may be addressed at the convention’s discretion (i.e., Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, etc.)
Are there size restrictions for bulky or oversize costumes?
Costumes must fit through a standard doorway and cannot impede traffic or block walkways. If your costume is bulky, obscures your vision, or has extensions (e.g. tails or wings), you should have a designated “handler” to help you navigate the event.
